Our Shared Destiny

Park Rapids lakes area will be a vibrant community with opportunity for all. We will embrace an exceptional quality of life and a growing economy, while protecting our natural environment and small town beauty and charm. Park Rapids will be known as a community that is a great place to live, work and play:

- acknowledging our differences;

- respecting each other’s talents;

- valuing shared prosperity; and

- working together for the broader community good.

What is it going to take to get there?

Park Rapids has almost unlimited potential. We are blessed with tremendous community assets: a natural environment second to none, great recreational amenities, a solid economic base.

But we need to accept the fact that the  blessings of our past do not guarantee our success in the future.

PROGRESS PARK RAPIDS is committed to leaving our children and grandchildren a great community to live and raise a family.  How?  PROGRESS PARK RAPIDS will:

  • Encourage the broader Park Rapids community to come together behind one common dream for our future;
  • Identify and act on strategies to reach our community dream; and
  • Challenge the broader Park Rapids community to join us as stewards of our community.

Progress Park Rapids has identified 17 goals for the community. They are not meant to be exclusive. The goals can be divided under the categories of economy, education, health, sense of community, environment and leadership.

Links providing contact information of individuals currently involved in these efforts are provided next to each goal if you would like to provide comments specific to certain goals or become involved in making them happen.
